Office Procedures

VAS (Volunteer Attorney Services) does not employ attorneys. To open a case, clients must first call CLEAR (Coordinated Legal Education, Advice and Referral) where they will be screened for eligibility. If eligible, an attorney will give advice either over the phone or in person. If CLEAR determines the case needs further assistance, it may be referred to VAS. After the case has been referred, will will typically call the client within one week.

The VAS office can NOT give legal advice, if you have legal questions you will be asked to contact CLEAR!

1. CALL CLEAR  1-888-201-1014
They are open Monday through Friday 9:15 am – 12:15 pm. It is a call center and they do get a high volume of callers, so please be patient and if you do not get through the first time try again.

2. Be Patient
Give VAS time to read through your case. If you have questions about your case you can call the office at 509-453-4400.
